Teaching

Isaac has been privately teaching violin and viola since 2018 and has worked with students of all ages. He loves prepping students for auditions, competitions, and recitals! One on one private teaching is the most rewarding aspect of a career in music. Similarly, he is the violin Teaching Artist with Harmony Project – Expo. With Harmony Project, Isaac is fortunate to work with after school students from all over LAUSD. In this role, he teaches four levels of violin group lessons from introductory to advanced and also coaches multiple orchestras with the organization.

Music Education

Bachelors of Music, CSUF School of Music

Master’s of Music, UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music

Isaac attended CSU Fullerton for his Bachelor’s degree in music and UCLA for his Master’s degree. At CSUF, Isaac was the recipient of the Yamaha Strings Award and a prize winner in the School of Music Concerto Competition. During this time he participated in masterclasses for renowned concertmasters such as Jorja Fleezanis and acclaimed soloists Haik Kazazyan, Tsuyoshi Tsutsumi, and many more. After graduating from CSUF with his Bachelor’s of Music, Isaac pursued a Masters of Music from UCLA. At the UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music he studied violin with Varty Manouelian and Movses Pogossian. He was also fortunate to receive tutelage from Ji-Young An, David Kaplan, Che-Yen Chen, and Wendy Richman.

Orchestral Experience

For the 2025-2026 season Isaac is a violin fellow for the Stockton Symphony led by conductor, Peter Jaffe. With the Stockton Symphony, Isaac will perform as a member of the violin sections on a regular basis. In 2024, Isaac won the principal second violin position for the California Young Artist Symphony and will serve as principal second violin from 2024-2026. Aside from these positions, Isaac performs regularly with regional orchestras like Dream Orchestra (LA), Mozart Classical Orchestra, and more. In the summer of 2023, Isaac was a violin fellow at the National Repertory Orchestra in Breckenridge, Colorado, where they played over eighteen symphonic concerts in just eight weeks. Over the last eight years, Isaac has been fortunate to play under the batons of conductors such as Carl St. Clair, Michael Stern, Joann Falleta, David Chan, Rob Kapilow, and Tania Miller to name a few. He was also a section violinist for the American Youth Symphony from 2022-2024.

Chamber Music

Isaac is a passionate chamber musician and has studied and performed a wide range of chamber music repertoire from violin duos to string octets, piano trios, quartets, and quintets. His most influential collaborative mentor’s include Jan Talich of the Talich Quartet, Domenic Salerni of the Attacca Quartet, Che-Yen Chen (a previous member of the Formosa Quartet and current faculty at UCLA), and pianist Ning An with whom Isaac studied collaborative playing with pianists. He is in the process of forming a string quartet with dear friends and wonderful musicians based in southern California.
